THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG
How it works
Each style is derived from word tokens: split the text on non-alphanumeric characters and camelCase boundaries, normalise the tokens, then rejoin them in the target style (joined, underscored, hyphenated or spaced).

Paste your text once and all eleven styles are produced at the same time, so you can copy the one you need instead of converting repeatedly. The identifier styles — camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE — are built from word tokens: the text is first split wherever a non-alphanumeric character appears and wherever a lowercase letter or digit meets an uppercase letter, which is why “UserFirstName” tokenises back into user / first / name before being rejoined as user_first_name.
The prose styles work differently. Title Case capitalises the first letter of every word, including small words like “of” and “the” — this tool applies the simple mechanical rule rather than a publisher's style guide, which would leave some small words lowercase. Sentence case lowercases everything, then capitalises the first letter of the text and the first letter after each . ! or ?. UPPERCASE and lowercase transform the text as-is, preserving your spacing and punctuation exactly.
Two styles are toys with real uses: alternating case cycles lower/upper over letters only (spaces and punctuation do not advance the cycle), and inverse case flips every letter's case — on already-lowercase text that simply gives uppercase, so try it on mixed-case input. Everything runs in your browser; your text is never uploaded or stored.
Worked examples
One phrase, five working styles
Input
the quick brown fox
Working
Tokenised as the / quick / brown / fox. Title Case capitalises each token in place; camelCase joins them with only the later tokens capitalised; snake_case joins the lowercase tokens with underscores.
Result
Title: The Quick Brown Fox · camelCase: theQuickBrownFox · snake_case: the_quick_brown_fox
Turning a label into code identifiers
Input
user first name
Working
The three tokens user / first / name are rejoined three ways: camelCase keeps the first token lowercase, PascalCase capitalises every token, and CONSTANT_CASE uppercases and underscores the tokens.
Everything is lowercased first, then the first letter of the text and the first letter after the full stop are capitalised.
Result
Hello world. How are you?
Frequently asked questions
Why does Title Case capitalise words like “of” and “the”?
This converter applies the simple mechanical rule — every word is capitalised — because it has no way to know which style guide you follow. Editorial title case (Chicago, AP) leaves short prepositions and articles lowercase unless they start the title. If you need that, lowercase those small words by hand after converting; “A Tale Of Two Cities” from this tool becomes “A Tale of Two Cities” with two small edits.
What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
Only the first letter. camelCase starts lowercase (userFirstName) and is the convention for variables and methods in JavaScript, Java and C#. PascalCase starts uppercase (UserFirstName) and is the convention for class and type names in the same languages. Both are built from the same word tokens.
When would I use snake_case or CONSTANT_CASE?
snake_case (user_first_name) is the convention for variables and database columns in Python, Ruby and SQL. CONSTANT_CASE (MAX_RETRY_COUNT) is the near-universal convention for constants and environment variables across languages. kebab-case (my-blog-post) is used for URLs, CSS class names and file names, because underscores can be hard to see in underlined links.
Does converting destroy my formatting?
UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, alternating and inverse preserve your line breaks, spacing and punctuation. The five identifier styles rebuild the text from word tokens, so punctuation and repeated spaces are removed by design — a heading becomes a single identifier with no spaces.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. All eleven conversions happen in your browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or tracked.
